Best suited for
Businesses that need a loan but don’t have the time to compare hundreds of lenders – we do the hard work for you.
Are there any fees to use the Acceptance service?
No. We don’t charge for our service, and when you apply, we only do a soft credit search ourselves, which leaves no trace on your credit history.
How is Acceptance paid?
We don’t charge you a fee. We may receive a commission from the lender when a loan completes. It isn’t charged to you and doesn’t affect the total cost of your loan.
What is a business loan broker?
A business loan broker connects businesses with lenders. Normally you would research dozens of banks and alternative lenders and fill in a separate application for each. With a broker, you fill in one application. The broker works out what you need and introduces you to the lenders most likely to say yes on good terms.
Lending criteria vary enormously. One lender may want three years of accounts, while another is happy with 12 months of trading. One specialises in construction, another in healthcare or hospitality. A good broker knows those differences, so your application goes to the right place first time instead of collecting rejections along the way.
Acceptance is a credit broker, not a lender. We work with a panel of trusted partner lenders across UK business finance. They cover unsecured loans, asset finance, credit lines and tax funding. Our job is to find the best fit for your business and guide you through to funding.
How Acceptance works as your broker

We get to know your business
Tell us how much you need, what it’s for and a few details about your trading. It’s one short form.

We match you to the right lenders
We review your application and send it to partner lenders whose criteria suit your sector, size and circumstances.

You compare real offers
We set out each option clearly, with rates, terms and repayments explained, so you can choose with confidence.

We stay with you until you’re funded
We handle the back-and-forth with the lender and keep things moving until the money is in your account.
Why use a broker instead of going direct to a lender?
Going direct suits some businesses. For most, a broker means more choice, less admin and a better chance of approval. Here’s an honest comparison.
- Advantages
- One application reaches many lenders, so you don’t repeat your details to bank after bank
- Access to lenders you won’t find on your own, including specialist and alternative lenders
- Expert guidance on which type of finance suits your goal
- We chase the lender and handle the paperwork, saving you time
- A second route if your bank says no
- No fee to you
- Disadvantages
- We can only search lenders on our partner panel, not every lender in the market
- If you already have a strong relationship with one lender, going direct may be just as good
- The lender makes the final decision and sets the rate, not the broker
- Your details are shared with partner lenders so they can assess your application
- You’ll still need the usual documents and at least 12 months’ trading history

Common questions about business loan brokers
What does a business loan broker do?
A business loan broker sits between your business and a range of lenders. You complete one application instead of applying to lenders one by one. The broker matches you with lenders whose criteria fit your business, then helps you compare offers and secure the best one available.
Do I pay Acceptance a fee to use your broker service?
No. Acceptance does not charge you a broker fee. We may receive a commission from the lender when a loan completes. The amount can vary by lender, product and terms, but it isn’t charged to you and doesn’t affect the total cost of your loan.
Is it better to use a broker or go direct to a lender?
Going direct can work if you already know exactly which lender suits you. A broker is usually faster and gives you more choice. One application reaches several lenders, you avoid applying to lenders likely to decline you, and you can compare offers side by side before deciding.
Will using a broker affect my credit score?
Checking your eligibility won’t affect your credit score. Acceptance doesn’t carry out credit checks itself. Our partner lenders may run a soft search at first, which leaves no footprint, and a hard search only happens if you choose to accept an offer.
How quickly will I receive the funds?
Most applicants get a decision within 24 hours, with funds released in as little as 48 hours. Having your company registration number and recent bank statements ready helps speed things up.
Who makes the final lending decision?
The lender. As your broker, we prepare and present your application and help you choose between offers. The lender sets the rate and terms and approves the loan.
Can a broker help if my bank has declined me?
Often, yes. High-street banks tend to have narrow criteria. Our panel includes specialist and alternative lenders who assess applications differently, including for businesses with an imperfect credit history.
